Choosing the Right Shampoo
Long hair needs to be very well cared for. How you wash your hair and what you use on it matters quite a bit.
There’s no one right answer for which shampoo you ought to use, however. I’ve always had the best results from switching my shampoos regularly. This keeps the buildup to a minimum.
Overall, I use Pantene the most. It just really seems to work well with my hair. I’ve never liked the 2 in 1 varieties with any brand - they just don’t seem to condition all that well, and you really need a good conditioner when you have long hair.
I’ve also heard great things about Mane ‘n Tail. I’ll have to give it a try one of these days soon.
If you don’t like changing brands a lot, just get a clarifying shampoo. These do a good job of removing the buildup if you just use it every once in a while.
I have to admit, I have never tried a salon brand of shampoo or conditioner. I understand they are supposed to do a great job, but since I’ve always been happy with what I can get at the store, I haven’t yet felt the need to try something more expensive. Probably will one day, just to see what the big deal is.
