Long Hair and Dry Air

Filed under: Long Hair Care — Stephanie

This winter has been tough on my hair. Living in southern California as I do, we haven’t had a lot of rain, and of course no snow. Came close, but not quite. We’ve had unusual cold, sufficient to freeze our pipes (practically unheard of here!), and a half inch of ice on the sandbox we filled with water when we realized how cold the nights were.

Not at all kind to long hair.

The air here has been insanely dry and my hair just hates it. I’ve had more trouble with tangling and split ends than usual.

It’s tough to beat this problem. Oiling definitely helps, though. Not enough it seems, at least for my taste, but I’m doing what I can.

Dry is Colorado!!! I moved here and could not believe what it did to my hair. The quickest relief was Fantastic Sam’s conditioner. I used that for a large bottle or two, then I went back to alternating daily between that, Nexxus’ Humectress, and Redken’s Climatress…….. and then once my hair is out of the towel to be dried (Bangs only), I put a pea-sized amount in my hands and rub it in. It really helps…… My hair is about 3″ below my butt…..and healthy. Good luck!
